Located at the entrance to the village of Saint-Estèphe, the Château of Cos d’Estournel is easily recognizable. Its unique architecture is inspired by the multiple trips its founder Louis Gaspard d’Estournel took to India back in the early 19th century.
In 2001, the current owner initiated a meticulous vineyard study of Cos d’Estournel leading to a deeper understanding of the terroir and how to best to apply viticulture practices to each parcel. Then, in 2009, the château underwent a total renovation of its winemaking facilities basing the new design on the concept of 100% gravity-flow from harvest to bottling.
Over the last decade the passion, vision and hard work of Michel Reybier and his team has brought Cos d’Estournel among the best of Bordeaux.
Of the vintages currently available, you will find different profiles: rich and powerful wine found in the 2009, 2010 and 2015 or a more refined and elegant expression in the 2012.
