The warmer it gets outside, the more we need our wine choices to refresh us, as well as tick all the regular boxes. It’s well known that whites and rosés can do so, with their typically lighter-bodied profiles and general absence of tannins. However, many of our favorite red wines can do the trick just as well, providing you choose wisely.

In these summer months, the most full-bodied, tannic reds may not always be what you’re looking for. Find the right wine, though, and you can see a whole different guise to red wines show in the glass: exuberance, juiciness, crisp acidity and bright summer fruit character.
