Collection: The Best of the Best: Puligny’s Finest

Ask Burgundy lovers for their ultimate white wine village, and most will answer Puligny-Montrachet. With no discourtesy to its wonderful neighbours on either side, Meursault and Chassagne, Puligny’s tendency towards chiselled focused and mineral depth sets it apart.

We keep in stock a broad range of producers to satisfy your Puligny desires. Look to Drouhin for a gentle introduction to the village; Benoît Ente for a style of weightless finesse and charm; and to Ramonet for greater depth and power.

The top tier of Puligny producers, all hewing to a model of depth and mineral intensity include Sauzet; the perennially underrated Henri Boillot (especially the Mouchères Premier Cru) and the nec plus ultra, Domaine Leflaive. Both Boillot and Leflaive toy with a little reductive handling during winemaking (limiting the wine’s exposure to oxygen), lending even greater focus and definition to their wines. These are white wines of superb complexity and excitement.
