Collection: Mature Bordeaux Delights

Few experiences in wine offer the combination of pleasure and interest as does mature Bordeaux. The red wines of Bordeaux are, increasingly, a pleasure to drink at all ages. But with 15 or more years of age, the best wines of the region develop a dazzling complexity of flavor along with softened tannins and a mellow fruit character. We have an excellent range of mature Bordeaux in stock to fulfill all your aged wine needs.

2010 is indisputably a great vintage of recent times; Grand Puy Lacoste and Pichon Comtesse are beginning to drink beautifully now. Slightly less celebrated but drinking at almost full maturity now is the 2006 vintage, as bottles of Ducru-Beaucaillou and Margaux will amply demonstrate.

Retreating further in time, the 1980s were a glorious decade for the region, and the best wines continue to offer immense drinking pleasure at forty years old. From the classic 1985 vintage, we have bottles and magnums of Haut Bailly, as well as nearby Haut-Brion. Talking of that First Growth, we are pleased to offer its most celebrated recent vintage, 1989, an unforgettable wine for anyone lucky enough to have tasted it.
