Iconic French Cuvées for Bastille Day

In honor of Bastille Day, the French national holiday celebrated every July 14th, Sotheby’s Wine has curated a selection of exemplary wines including iconic cuvées from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and more.

Champagne doesn’t get more quintessential than Dom Pérignon. The 2013 is a must-buy: a late-harvest vintage of powerful concentration, this blends crushed chalk delicacy, vivid citrus acidity, and a creamy texture. Elsewhere, a bottle of Henri Boillot Bourgogne Blanc is a white Burgundy every cellar needs if classic French cooking is on the menu.

For lovers of Bordeaux, Petit-Figeac is a perfect introduction to the Right Bank, while the 2005 vintage from Château Cos d’Estournel – robust and wonderfully complex – shows why it’s an exemplar of Saint-Estèphe.
