Collection: Dominus Estate: A Napa Icon

Hailing from California’s historic Napanook Vineyard, Dominus Estate continues a reign of renown from the storied foothills of the Napa Valley. These powerful wines are marked by their elegance, long celebrated for a signature style that captures the best of both California and Bordeaux.

Christian Moueix, famed steward of Bordeaux icons like Trotanoy, La Fleur-Pétrus, Bélair-Monange, and Pétrus, brought his vision to Napa after studying winemaking in California during the 1960s. On Robert Mondavi’s recommendation, he partnered in the historic Napanook vineyard – once the source for Inglenook’s great Cabernets – before taking full ownership in the 1990s. His commitment to dry farming and meticulous viticulture has since defined Dominus, producing blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot that unite Bordeaux elegance with Napa power, securing its place among the valley’s most celebrated wines.

From our current range, the 1996 is a rare window into the early days of the estate's outstanding quality, while 2018 continues to amass praise as one of the top wines of the vintage. Savor seductive layers of dried herbs and tobacco with the powerful wines of 2019, or indulge in the critical darling 2016, an instant classic of a wine that earned a perfect 100-point score from Wine Advocate.

For excellent value, explore the 2021 vintage of the estate’s second wine, Napanook, offering rich and radiant expressions of the historic vineyard at a price point that pleases.
