Collection: Bruno Giacosa: Benchmark Nebbiolo

Few names in Piedmont command the reverence reserved for Bruno Giacosa. Over a career that spanned more than eight decades, Giacosa became one of the great producers of Nebbiolo, building his reputation on an uncompromising pursuit of the finest fruit in both Barolo and Barbaresco. Long before single-vineyard bottlings became commonplace, he recognized the singular character of great sites, releasing a landmark Barbaresco from the Santo Stefano vineyard in 1964 and helping to define the modern language of Piedmont’s cru wines.

Today, the estate remains in the careful hands of his daughter, Bruna Giacosa, and each release continues to be greeted with anticipation by collectors worldwide. At the forefront of the lineup stands the legendary Barolo Vigna Le Rocche Riserva, its rare red label appearing only in vintages of exceptional pedigree. The 2017 vintage follows the monumental 2015 and 2016 with remarkable authority, a wine of depth, structure and unmistakable nobility that ranks among the most coveted bottles in Italy.

Alongside this icon, a superb range of estate-grown Barolo and Barbaresco completes the offer, including several impeccable bottles from the 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2001 vintages, recently acquired from the private cellar of a particularly discerning collector. These mature bottles are drinking wonderfully now, showing just how rewarding patience can be for wines of such precision, power and longevity.

For classic Piedmont enthusiasts, opportunities of this caliber are not to be missed.
