2015 Bordeaux: A Vintage of Pleasure

Wine Team New York |

From the first En Primeur tastings of the 2015 Bordeaux vintage, it was evident that this was, above all, a vintage of pleasure. The wines were a joy to taste young, with their supple fruit, ripe tannins and native generosity. And so the wines remain today, improving in the bottle and yielding more pleasure than ever.

Weather conditions were quite welcoming – a warm, dry summer moderated by a cool picking season. The wines that followed were simply a product that every Bordeaux drinker appreciates: abundant fruit and beautiful ripeness, along with fresh acidity, balance and nuance. The 2015 vintage yielded many wines that are approachable today – with plenty of polish and round edges – but also features many spectacular wines that will reward the most patient wine collectors.

Our extensive selection covers many lauded estates, and all for prices that are hard to beat. For Left Bank lovers, the selection is particularly enticing: Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Domaine de Chevalier, Palmer and Haut-Bailly are all excellent buys. For the Right Bank: Conseillante, Quintus and Chapelle d’Ausone are all on top form.
