Vougeraie: Benchmark Burgundy Across Two Vintages

Wine Team New York |

Domaine de la Vougeraie is one of Burgundy’s most significant estates, with more than 40 hectares of vineyards, including six Grand Crus. The flagship domaine of the Jean-Claude Boisset family, it has earned a reputation for producing wines of purity, balance, and authenticity. We are pleased to offer a selection spanning two contrasting vintages: the rich, concentrated 2020s and the more classical, finely etched 2021s.

Among the whites, the Clos Blanc de Vougeota rare monopole at the heart of the village – stands out for its combination of concentrated stone fruit, mineral tension, and remarkable precision. La Maltroie, offered in both vintages, delivers the generosity and texture expected of the appellation while retaining freshness and structure. At the peak sits the Bâtard-Montrachet, a wine of extraordinary breadth and depth, marrying power with impressive finesse.

The reds showcase the diversity of the Côte de Nuits. Clos du Prieuré offers an appealing introduction to the village, with bright fruit and understated charm, while Les Evocelles combines aromatic lift with impressive concentration and energy. For those seeking a more profound expression, the 2021 Clos de Vougeot displays the scale, complexity, and savory nuance that have made this historic vineyard one of Burgundy’s most celebrated terroirs.
