The 2019 Vintage from Coquard-Loison-Fleurot

Victor Rabot |

For years, Domaine Coquard-Loison-Fleurot (‘CLF’ to those in the know) remained one of Burgundy’s best-kept secrets. But with their exceptional terroirs, a new generation at the helm, and growing international recognition, the word is finally out. I first had the opportunity to taste, explore, and learn about the domaine’s wines nearly a decade ago, and I’ve been continually impressed by their evolution and dedication ever since.

With an impressive 9-hectare portfolio spanning six grand cru vineyards – including Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche, Clos-St-Denis, Clos de Vougeot, Échezeaux, and Grands ÉchezeauxCLF is now firmly on the radar of collectors and critics alike. The domaine, which historically focused on the domestic market, is now in the spotlight under the leadership of Claire Fleurot and winemaker Thomas Colladot.

The 2019 vintage is truly exceptional, reinforcing Neal Martin’s notes that “there is clearly a skilled winemaker at work here.” Colladot has incorporated some whole bunches to enhance freshness while preserving the domaine's signature style. The result? Balanced, perfumed wines with great freshness and persistence throughout the range.

While the 2022 vintage is now arriving on the market, we thought it would be interesting to offer you wine with some age in the bottle. The 2019s are hitting a beautiful stage, offering both early approachability and long cellar potential.

Wines are in stock and ready for delivery but given the rising demand for these wines, we recommend acting quickly. CLF village wines – Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Vosne-Romanée – are available for same-day pickup in our Retail Store at 1334 York Avenue.
