Cheval Blanc is one of the truly magical wines of Bordeaux. Perhaps due to the hefty share of Cabernet Franc in the blend, it has a particularly distinctive profile among the wines of the Right Bank. A lacy aromatic complexity of tea and spice notes, a piercing purity of flavour and a velvety texture are some of the hallmarks.
Of the vintages we have available, the 2015 is showing a brilliant youthful exuberance at present but will of course benefit from another few years of age; the 2006 and 2012 are compelling wines today, offering good value from slightly unheralded vintages. The 2009 is one of the all-time greats from this monumental vintage.
