Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer has remained an independent, family-owned company and is now managed by Frederic Rouzaud who represents the seventh generation of the lineage. It is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to producing high-quality champagne.

Produced only in exceptional years as a vintage-dated Champagne, Cristal was founded in 1876 by Louis Roederer in response to a special request from Tsar Alexander II of Russia. The blend is always around 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir and is aged for six years in the cellar prior to disgorgement.

Cristal is rarely as flamboyant as its peers; rarely as loose-knit and easy to appreciate on release. But it more than makes up for it with age, when its subtle beauties and harmonies emerge.
