Méo-Camuzet: Venerable House of Vosne

Tom Baxter |
The hallowed commune of Vosne-Romanée produces wines of such aromatic detail and refinement that many view it as the single greatest village in the entire wine world. Voluptuous texture, heady perfume and sheer generosity of fruit define this wine style and Méo-Camuzet is doubtless a flagbearer of these virtues, instilling them in its entire range of bottlings.

From humble and passionate beginnings with Étienne Camuzet, the late twentieth century saw Jean-Nicolas Méo reclaim and assemble much of the current vineyard area and work closely with veritable legends such as Henri Jayer. As a result, Méo-Camuzet is nowadays reaping the benefits and crafting enthralling wines from an enviable list of fine holdings.

Sotheby’s Wine is pleased to add the wines of the small, yet bright 2019 vintage to our existing offering. This patchwork of distinct terroirs encompassing NuitsVosneChambolle and Grands Crus EchézeauxCorton and Clos de Vougeot is all the more distinct, and indeed beautiful, when viewed through the lens of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated houses.
