There are many Boillots in Burgundy; Louis Boillot is the husband of Ghislaine Barthod, and both make their wines in the village of Chambolle-Musigny. Unlike his wife, Louis (and now their son, Clément) farms vineyards across several villages up and down the Côte d'Or and in Beaujolais too. This is an estate that merits your attention for the value of the wines: around $70 for village-level wines these days seems more than reasonable.
The style is classic: perfumed, gorgeously textured and fine-boned. Never more so than in the bright, expressive 2021 vintage that we are showcasing at present. All the wines we have in stock are in full bloom and do not require further aging. And do not sleep on the Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent; these are delightful mid-week options.
