Léoville Las Cases: A Pre-Eminent Super Second

Wine Team New York |

Among the Super Second growths of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Léoville Las Cases is, for many of us, pre-eminent in its depth and authority; its regal bearing distinguishing the wines from this wonderful terroir. Situated at the northern tip of the St. Julien appellation, only a ditch separates the vineyards from those of Château Latour.

If you enjoy cassis and gravel-scented Bordeaux that develops cedar and tobacco complexity with age, Léoville Las Cases is a wonderful option. We have a range of vintages in stock, including the splendid, complete 1996; the gorgeous 2001; and the 2005, a wonderful vintage to drink today.

From more recent years, the 2018 represents a glorious vintage in which the property reached new heights of succulence and generosity. The 2012, meanwhile, is a usefully early drinking option and offers huge pleasure today.
