Among the Super Second growths of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Léoville Las Cases is for many of us pre-eminent in its depth and authority; its regal bearing distinguishing the wines from this wonderful terroir. Situated at the northern tip of the St. Julien appellation, only a ditch separates the vineyards from those of Château Latour.
If you enjoy cassis and gravel-scented Bordeaux that develops cedar and tobacco complexity with age, Léoville Las Cases is a wonderful option. We have a range of vintages in stock, including the 1995, a pure and vibrant wine; the splendid, complete 1996 out of rare 6L format; and the 2001, a wonderful vintage to drink today.
From more recent years, the 2018 and 2019 represent back to back glorious vintages in which the property reached new heights of succulence and generosity. The 2012, meanwhile, is a usefully early drinking option and offers huge pleasure today.
