Finesse and Balance
Domaine Lamarche has one of the most enviable set of vineyard holdings not only in Vosne-Romanée but perhaps in all Burgundy. The prize jewel is the monopole of La Grande Rue, a strip of grand cru running alongside Romanée-Conti's La Tâche. In addition, Nicole Lamarche farms a handful of Vosne's top premiers crus and among the grands crus, Echézeaux, Grands Echézeaux and Clos Vougeot.
The Lamarche style is always one of finesse and balance; oak use is restrained and there is usually 30-40% of whole cluster inclusion. The result is light to medium bodied, delicate, pure, high-toned wines: classic Vosne-Romanée, at prices that remain extremely fair.
