Mouton-Rothschild is the only wine to have been promoted in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. In the early 1970s, the property was elevated to the top tier and has remained at that level ever since. Ask a Bordeaux lover, and very few will argue against the promotion. Mouton’s profile is everything we want from a First Growth property: excitement, distinctiveness, beauty and complexity. Compared to neighboring Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton is an exuberant, spicy and dramatic style of wine, generous and exotic in equal measure. It’s a wine that consistently brings you back to the glass.
We are pleased to offer multiple vintages of Mouton-Rothschild, and in particular, we have an outstanding range of large and very large formats available from recent years. For example, from the concentrated and rich 2018 vintage, we have magnums, double magnums and even one 6L imperial bottle (eight bottles of wine in one). Likewise, in the back-to-back sterling 2019 and 2020 vintages, both double magnums and imperials are in stock. These are great for the cellar, but even better for your next family celebration; the huge size of the bottle and the artist label specific to the vintage make for a celebratory wine indeed.
