Freshness and Balance
Among all the great names in the story of American wine, Martha's Vineyard, produced by Heitz Cellar, stands tall. Martha's Vineyard is well known for producing some of this country's greatest Cabernets in the 1970s, and to this day is a celebrated site for harmonious, elegant wines.
The vineyard is located in the Oakville bench region of Napa Valley, on the western side of the valley in the foothills of the Mayacamas range. Heitz has always managed to get the best from the site through a restrained winemaking regime prioritising freshness and balance rather than excessive ripeness. Sometimes the wines can be a little austere in their youth, but like European reds, they bloom with bottle age. We are pleased to offer a range of vintages with good bottle age: try a few and see for yourself.
