Pure and Vibrant
Pontet Canet, under the ownership of the debonair Alfred Tesseron, has quietly been blazing a trail all its own in Pauillac over the past 20 years. The first well known property in the Médoc fully to embrace biodynamics, Pontet Canet’s wines are now among the elite of the village. Vintages over the last decade or so have shown a shimmering purity of fruit; a stunningly vibrant and soulful expression of a familiar terroir. The result are wines of great distinctiveness in the Bordeaux firmament, so full of health and ebullience.
2008, 2011 and 2012 are all mid-weight vintages drinking well today after a decant; 2015 is a joyful, exuberant wine from a generous vintage for now or the next 30 years.
