A New Estate to Follow in Napa

Nick Jackson MW |
High up on the western hills of Napa Valley, a new estate is producing wines that deserve the attention of every wine lover. The Pym Rae estate is the American outpost of the Tesseron empire, of which the most well-known wine property is Pauillac's Château Pontet Canet. Pym Rae used to belong to, and retains the name of the children of, the late Robin Williams. It sits at 450m in the Mt. Veeder AVA and produces red wines largely from Cabernet Sauvignon.

Today, Sotheby’s Wine is pleased to offer both 2016 – the first vintage of Pym Rae – and 2018. Both show the dark, focused fruit of Mount Veeder, with an impressive mineral core. These are stunning wines of great structure and stature, and brilliant additions to the pantheon of leading Napa wines.
