We are pleased to offer the newly released Château d’Yquem 2023.
I recently had the opportunity to attend a particularly insightful tasting, where we sampled six different lots that are part of the Yquem blend. Tasting each component separately offered a fascinating perspective on how every parcel contributes its own character – from aromatic intensity to texture, freshness and depth – before coming together in the final wine. It was a very compelling way to understand the precision behind the blend.
The tasting was followed by lunch, where Château d’Yquem 1996 and Château d’Yquem 2006 were served, both showing beautifully and reminding us of the extraordinary ageing potential that defines great vintages of Yquem.
Speaking about the new release, Lorenzo Pasquini (CEO of Yquem) described 2023 as a true “dream vintage” – the result of ideal conditions aligning throughout the season and rewarding the meticulous work of the Yquem team. The wine captures the estate’s signature harmony, with remarkable balance between richness, freshness and aromatic complexity.
Following two strong vintages, Château d’Yquem 2021 and Château d’Yquem 2022, the 2023 vintage stands out for its classic equilibrium: 2021 showing a fresher, more delicate profile, 2022 richer and more opulent, while 2023 sits beautifully between the two, combining precision with generosity.
The new release has been highly rated by critics:
“Power, freshness, depth, after 2021 and 2022, this walks the line between the two."
– Jane Anson 100/100pts
"Yquem’s natural power is here masterfully harnessed by the vintage’s freshness and tension, revealing an aesthetic of precision and vibrancy encountered only in the estate’s greatest years." – Wine Advocate 100/100pts
