From their base in Vosne-Romanée, the team at Meo-Camuzet, led by Nicolas Meo, continues to produce some of the Côte de Nuits’ most attention-grabbing wines. The house style is one of hedonistic opulence, with velvety textures and irresistible aromatics. These are sumptuous, sensual wines, well worth the price tag.
From the northern Côte de Nuits, try the Marsannay or Fixin Premier Cru to see what excellent winemaking can yield from these less celebrated terroirs. Further south, the domaine is renowned for its wines from around Vosne: the smoky Brûlées Premier Cru, compelling Echezeaux, and stunning Richebourg. The Clos Vougeot is not so far behind the Vosne wines in its class and succulence.
The other significant holding the family is fortunate to own is on the hill of Corton, from which the family occasionally produces gorgeous examples of Grands Crus, such as Corton Rognet and Perrières.
